La via dei Metati + exploration of the Canyon from above.

This day trip combines an excursion immersed in the chestnut forest of the Lima Valley withthe zipline route to explore the Straits of Coccigliaat Canyon Park, located at Bagni di Lucca in the Lima Valley (the Tuscan Apennines) from above. The canyon is a stunning natural location with limestone canyon walls over 10 metres tall and deep, clear water.

During the excursion the route reaches a characteristic mountain village where we’ll stop for a packed lunch made with genuine local produce. Our ‘pilgrimage’ then continues passing historic huts used for drying chestnuts (the metati), a testament to the historic importance of chestnuts in the area.

After lunch, in mid-afternoon, we’ll head back to Canyon Park, where from our fully equipped zipline you can admire the Straits of Cocciglia canyon – a key element of the area’s environmental heritage – from a unique viewpoint.

The aerial route at Canyon park is a unique, explorative experience and includes multimedia content telling the story of this spectacular location. We offer aerial route activities in small groups, and the activity is created to offer maximum enjoyment.
